Equilibrium was a collaboration with photographer Fin Wright.
Eight stones were taken from the stream that runs through Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog and transported to various sites in the North West Highlands of Scotland. Each was wrapped as a ‘gift’ to its new location, labelled with the grid reference from Llanarmon DC, placed and photographed. In turn, 8 stones were collected from these sites and returned to the village, labelled with the grid reference of their origin and sited in discrete parts of the village.
Equilibrium consisted of two parts, the stones that could be found in the village, and the photographs taken in Scotland. The two parts of the work formed a dialogue that spoke of the relationship between real and imagined places, and the connections and differences between where we are, and where we could be.
